The Peony Farm - Brooks Gardens
We are peony growers and offer a large variety of bare root peonies for your gardens and landscapes. We sell potted peonies at our farm during the spring bloom season and by appointment the remainder of the year. Our online peony root catalog posts each winter - all root orders are shipped ONLY in the fall months.
We've been farming peonies since 2000. Each fall we dig and divide fresh stock and ship to gardeners around the country. Stop by our Oregon farm for cut peony flowers and potted peonies during the May/June bloom season. The farm is closed to visitors except during the spring bloom season or for special events.
We've come a long ways since we hand hilled our first acre of peonies (walking up and down each side of the stringed 'rows', shoveling soil one scoop at a time to build the hills). We grow over 350 different varieties of these amazing plants.
Our Willamette Valley soil produces excellent bare root stock, with many 1 year plants producing a blossom the first year (it is totally normal for a peony to take two years to blossom). We want our customers to be successful in growing their plants and take the time to show and tell our customers how to plant and care for their peonies. All root orders come with planting and care tips.
We grow many upright peony plant varieties as well as some of the most fragrant varieties. Newer American hybrid peonies join the old fashioned heirloom peonies that have thrilled gardeners for decades. Each year we add new varieties of peonies to grow and propagate for your garden flower beds and landscapes.
Our selections include herbaceous (bush) peonies and Itoh intersectional peonies (a cross between a bush peony and a tree peony). We grow over 40 varieties of the Itoh intersectional peonies, which have an upright, non-floppy growth habitat - never needing staking. Our peonies are available in a multitude of flower styles, colors and fragrances.

We were thrilled to receive the Grand Champion and Best in Show awards for 'Lavon' at the 2018 American Peony Society floral exhibit. In 2011 we were honored with Grand Champion and Best in Show awards for our entry 'Bob'.
