Today we welcome the month of May and the peonies are already a sight to see. The early mid-season peonies are starting to bloom: Bess Bockstoce, Carina, Carnation Bouquet, Command Performance, Flame, Green Lotus, Lavender, Lemon Dream, Petite Elegance, Pink Hawaiian Coral, Raspberry Charm, Red Charm, Serene Pastel, Yellow Crown, Yellow Dream and Yellow Heaven. White Innocence and Skylark are magnificent, very tall peonies, perfect for hedgerows and background planting.
Now is the perfect time to compare the coral peonies: to see the pink in Coral Supreme, the orange in Coral Sunset and the sheer size of the Coral Charms. I always find an alluring softness in the hue of the Pink Hawaiian Corals. Visit during the next week or so to catch all of them in bloom.
While we are not near peak bloom, there are many varieties opening daily. With warm afternoons today and tomorrow, Mothers Day weekend will be a delight to flower lovers, with loads of peony and iris bloom. Our iris gardens are full of color this week, with many more irises to open next week.
Stop by and pick up peony bouquets for Mothers Day, or any day – fresh from the farm. We are open daily, 10 am – 6 pm through June 15, 2016.
