P. tenuifolia single

Paeonia tenuifolia (species)  Single flower form, scarlet red blossoms. A dainty beauty with fine-cut fern leaf foliage. These peonies are also referred to as fern leaf peonies.

Be sure to provide very good soil drainage. A little afternoon shade can be beneficial. These can go dormant in mid-summer, earlier than other peonies (not to worry, this is normal). 

Early-season bloomer. Height:  12" - 15" tall at maturity. Compact, no stake peony.
