Mikado

Mikado peony  (Japan, 1893) Japanese style peony. Red (purple-red) flowers with a golden center; the rose-red staminodes are edged and tipped in pale buff-yellow. Abundant blossoms on strong stems. Seed producer.

Heirloom peony. Mid-season. Height: 34".
