Collection: Herbaceous Peonies

Herbaceous peony plants are commonly referred to as bush or garden peonies. These peonies are perennials and grow each spring, producing luscious, fragrant flowers. You trim the stems down to ground level each fall and the roots go dormant (resting) for the winter. The roots have 'eyes' (buds) that will sprout again in early spring and grow into new stems. Each stem will produce a flower.

The intersectional Itoh peonies are hybrid crosses between herbaceous and tree peonies. They are also called Intersectional peonies; they are also herbaceous (bush) peonies. Their leaves and flowers are reminiscent of their tree peony parent.

Peony plants can live in the same spot for years, rarely needing divided.
