Here in Oregon, we are enjoying an early spring. Our species peonies are generally the first to bloom each spring, around April 15th.....well, they are likely to bloom before the end of March this year. Not to be outdone by the species varieties, the cute Little Red Gem fern leaf peonies are racing to be the first to bloom, though. They are showing more color than Paeonia daurica subsp. mlokosewitschii this week.
